Match Preview:
Rayo Vallecano is a team that plays the same color as the Spanish Giants but they yet have to duplicate the style with which they play. Vallecano play a full frontal attack strategy and Ancelotti confirmed that Real Madrid have to be at their best in the game, however, having said that it is still under observation and common knowledge that Rayo Vallecano are hoping for an upset. They have lost their last 6 La Liga matches against Real Madrid, and now that the team is arguably in its best form yet, they have to pull in a lot of effort to play it safe and concede less than 3 goals let alone win at all.
Real Madrid on the other hand have set fire this season everywhere they go. After the historical win against Barcelona and then thrashing Liverpool, they have shut the mouths of their critics who said they can only perform against smaller teams. Unluckily for Rayo, they do come under the category of smaller teams considering the amount of resources they have. However, it is always best not to underestimate your opponent.
Gareth Bale will be starting today, after being rested due to his injury for a few matches. Bale missed 5 superb matches in which Real Madrid collectively scored 19 goals! Isn’t that a team to be afraid of? Iker Casillas, is hopping back consistently and now he has asserted himself as someone who Vallecano should look out for. His saves have been regaining their previous finesse and the Spanish Captain is looking to redeem himself by maintaining a clean sheet yet again.
It isn’t really that hard to predict the outcome. Rayo may put up a fight but they’re still up against Real Madrid, the team that has found its way back to the top of the table from 7th place. Nobody wants to face off against them, not even Barcelona could cope with their form; Bravo conceded 3 goals and he was the man who had maintained a record of clean sheets this season. Nevertheless, it’s still going to be a great match to watch as it always is.
My Prediction: Real Madrid 5-0 Rayo Vallecano
