Match Preview: There has been a lot of talk regarding Barcelona’s disappointing 3-2 defeat against PSG in the Champions League but most seem to have looked over the fact that the Catalans have had a very successful run at home. Their performance in domestic matches have earned them the praise that the team truly deserves with Lionel Messi, just being Messi and Neymar playing on a role.
In addition to that, Dani Alves is playing his last season at Barcelona so this might be one of the last few matches he will treasure in the team. Claudio bravo has been phenomenal between the sticks following his great run in the world cup. He is truly the man in form and the one to look out for in this match. Barcelona is a team that is strong, capable and have their eyes on the prize.
Their run against Rayo Vallecano has been anything but disappointing. In their previous encounters Barcelona has scored 29 goals and conceded only 1 in return. The team could either step up and take the game head on or fold completely under pressure. Rayo Vallecano may have lost against Barcelona when they encountered them on the pitch but they have definitely given them a run for their money when it comes to possession of the ball. They also do not seem to be taking this lightly, as they already have two victories under the belt after defeating Athletico Bilbao 2-1 and Levante 2-0.
Either way, it can be anticipated that the game would be an interesting one to watch.
Probable Lineups:
Barcelona: Bravo, Alves, Mascherano, Pique, Alba, Rakitic, Busquets, Iniesta, Munir, Messi, Neymar
Rayo Vallecano: Tono, Tito, Ze Castro, Ba, Insua, Baena, Trashorras, Lica, Bueno, Kakuta, Baptistao
My Prediction: Barceona 3 -1 Rayo Vallecano
